The Ghana Tourism Authority (GTA) has begun preparations for the 2025 edition of December in GH, convening a high-level stakeholder engagement session as part of its broader Black Star Experience agenda.
The meeting, held on Wednesday, 19 November 2025 at the Shipper’s Authority, brought together event organisers, security agencies, tourism operators, and partners from the creative industry.
GTA’s Chief Executive Officer, Maame Efua Houadjeto, emphasised the importance of strengthened coordination and disciplined execution as Ghana prepares for another globally anticipated festive season.

She noted that the Black Star Experience, driven strongly by the December in GH calendar, has become a major national economic driver, boosting international arrivals, stimulating the creative economy, attracting investment, and deepening regional participation.
The robust lineup of events for 2025, she said, reflects the growing confidence the global community places in Ghana as a leading cultural destination.
However, Houadjeto cautioned that Ghana’s growing success must be matched with responsibility.

She underscored the need to enhance safety protocols, tighten compliance, and maintain operational excellence across all activities.
Visitors, she said, continue to choose Ghana not only for its vibrancy but also for the authenticity and reliability of its tourism experience, qualities stakeholders must work collectively to protect.
The engagement focused on improving inter-agency collaboration, identifying operational gaps, anticipating risks, and reinforcing standards required for a smooth, world-class festive season.
The CEO urged institutions to embrace a solutions-oriented approach and maintain agility throughout the rollout.

Houadjeto said the 2025 season will focus on strengthening operations by tightening compliance and safety standards at all event venues, ensuring timely communication and coordination to avoid last-minute disruptions, and improving data collection and reporting to support better planning and impact assessment.
She assured stakeholders that the GTA will continue providing strong support through streamlined facilitation, effective agency coordination, and rapid response mechanisms to resolve emerging challenges.
The Ghana Tourism Authority reaffirmed its commitment to safeguarding the credibility of the Black Star Experience and delivering a 2025 December in GH edition that commands global attention.
