The Ghana Tourism Authority (GTA), in partnership with the Ghana Football Association (GFA) and Tribe, yesterday hosted a watch party at Laboma Beach in Accra for Ghana’s World Cup qualifier against Mali.
The initiative formed part of efforts to promote sports tourism and showcase Ghana as a hub for vibrant fan experiences.
The Black Stars’ 1–0 victory over Mali added to the excitement of the evening, drawing football fans, diplomats, and supporters, including representatives from the Canadian Embassy.
Speaking after the match, GTA CEO Maame Efua Huadjeto expressed delight at both the win and the turnout.
She thanked supporters for their unwavering backing of the national team and underscored the Authority’s commitment to using sports as a driver of tourism.
The CEO of Tribe, Nana Agyemang, also urged Ghanaians not to give up on the Black Stars, but to continue rallying behind them as they push forward in the qualifiers.
The lively beachside atmosphere combined football, music, and culture, underscoring how such events can contribute to both national unity and Ghana’s growing sports tourism industry.
