Moldovan champions Petrocub Hîncești have terminated their contract with Ghanaian football administrator Nana Yaw Amponsah as a member of the club’s leadership, XYZ sports can exclusively confirm.
Nana Yaw Amponsah and his Samaritan Investment Group were appointed to manage the affairs of the Municipal Stadium outfit in a deal signed earlier this year.
The former Asante Kotoko Chief Executive Officer (CEO) assumed a top role as the president of the club, which signifies a transformative era for the club and marks a significant milestone in its history.
He helped the club clinch the Moldovan Premier League title for the first time and the Moldovan super Cup in the just-concluded season.
However, the Petrocub Hîncești board of directors opted to terminate their contract with Nana Yaw Amponsah and the Samaritan Investment Group following a heated misunderstanding over the direction of the club.
XYZ sports understands that the decision has led to the withdrawal of all players from the team’s roster acquired under the Nana Yaw Amponsah- led administration ahead of their maiden UEFA Champions League campaign, slated to kick off 10th July 2024.
Nana Yaw Amponsah parted ways with Asante Kotoko in the previous year, concluding his tenure that commenced in 2020. During his time at Kotoko, he secured one Ghana Premier League title for the Porcupine Warriors.
