Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II has formally invited President John Dramani Mahama to attend the final funeral rites of the late Asantehemaa, Nana Konadu Yiadom III.
A delegation led by Amoamanhene Nana Agyenim Boateng I conveyed the invitation on behalf of the Otumfuo during a courtesy call on the President at the Jubilee House in Accra on Friday morning.
The royal funeral is scheduled for September 15–18, 2025, at the Manhyia Palace in Kumasi.
President Mahama extended condolences to the Asantehene and the people of Asanteman, describing the passing of Nana Konadu Yiadom III as an immense loss.
He assured the delegation of his firm intention to attend the funeral and pay his final respects.
The Asantehemaa, who passed away on August 7, 2025, at the age of 98, was celebrated for her decades of leadership and support to the Asante Kingdom.
