President Mahama appoints 8-Member committee to organize National Education Forum

President John Dramani Mahama has appointed an eight-member committee chaired by Prof KT Oduro, a former Pro Vice Chancelor of the University of Cape Coast.

The commitee, which includes Professor Joshua Alabi, a seasoned academician and a former Vice Chancelor of the University of Professional Studies, Accra has two weeks to present a plan for a National Education Forum.

A statement signed by the Spokesperson to the President, Felix Kwakye Ofosu said the committee among other things, is expected to
1. Develop a theme and sub-themes to guide the stakeholder engagement.
2. Identify key stakeholders in the education sector, including students, parents,
teachers, key stakeholders, parliamentary select committee on Education amongst others.
3. Develop a stakeholder activity agenda with time allocation.

It also directed the committee to draft a national education policy framework and propose an action plan for
implementing recommendations within three weeks after the Forum as well as consider any other issue relevant to the organization of the Forum.

Other members of the committee are Professor Goski Alabi, Professor Rosemary Bosu, Samuel Awuku,
Ph.D, and Professor Smile Dzisi.

The rest are Executive Director of Africa Education Watch, Kofi Asare, Stephen Owusu and Inusah Shiraz.
