President Mahama continues West African States good neighborliness visit to Burkina Faso Monday

President John Dramani Mahama will continue his West African ‘good neighborliness’ visit on Monday. He is expected to pay a one day working visit to Burkina Faso on Monday, March 10, 2025.

At the Burkinabe capital Ouagadougou, President Mahama will meet with his Burkinabe counterpart, Captain Ibrahim Traoré, in a bid to strengthen bilateral relations between the two countries.

The visit to Ouagadougou on Monday will be the third in a row after President Mahama visited his counterparts of the Alliance of Sahel States.

President John began visit to the Sahelian states on Saturday March 8, when he held discussions with his Malian Counterpart Colonel Assimi Goìta.
He continue on Sunday where travelled to Niamey, Niger to hold talks with General Abdourahamane Tchiani, President of the National Council for the Safeguard of the Homeland.

The two leaders held closed-door meetings and later an expanded bilateral meeting with their delegations in the presidential palace.

Monday’s visit to Captain Ibrahim Traoré will have the two leaders hold discussions on enhancing cooperation in areas of mutual interest, reflecting the strong historical and geographical ties between Ghana and Burkina Faso.

The two leaders are also expected to deliberate on the security situation in the Sahel region, sub-regional stability, and international geopolitical developments. Given their shared perspectives on key issues of global governance, their meeting is anticipated to reinforce strategic collaboration between the two countries.
