Executive Director of Global Info Analytics, Mussa Dankwah, says Ghana’s political landscape has outgrown propaganda and emotional rhetoric, stressing that credible research and data-driven strategy now determine electoral outcomes.
Speaking on Citi FM after his outfit accurately projected the results of the Akwatia by-election, Dankwah said the experience underscored the growing importance of polling in Ghana’s competitive democracy.
“I knew I would have been taken to the slaughterhouse if I got this wrong. They were preparing to finish me,” he admitted, highlighting the high stakes of electoral predictions.
He noted that Ghana’s voting dynamics are being reshaped by a youthful, informed electorate, with more than 70% of voters under 35.
“These people are on social media, and they will be quick to fact-check you. If they fact-check you and realise you are telling lies, that is your end,” Dankwah warned.
He advised political parties to adapt quickly, cautioning that those who fail to engage with credible, fact-based messaging risk losing touch with the modern voter.
