Mining and construction contracting company Engineers and Planners has threatened to sue investigative journalist Manasseh Azure Awuni if he fails to apologize and retract false claims in his new book “The President Ghana never Got” within seven (7) days.
It follows his publication that Mr Ibrahim Mahama is one of the debtors of Universal Merchant Bank (UMB), formerly State-owned Merchant Bank to the tune of $28M.
According to Mr Azure the uproar generated in 2013 when the bank was sold to a private equity firm, Fortiz was as a result of that debt.
But Chief Executive of Engineers and Planners Ibrahim Mahama through his lawyer has since issued a 7-day ultimatum to Manasseh to retract and apologize or face him in court
