Flag Bearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) John Mahama has called on Vice President Dr. Mahamud Bawumia to stop talking like an opposition leader.
He says promising Ghanaians to reverse policy decisions he fully participated in making, despite protests sounds funny.
According to John Mahama, Dr. Bawumia continues to play a key role in government and must take full responsibility for the economic mess over the last eight years.
Addressing Chiefs and people of Afoenga in the South Dayi Constituency on Day 3 of his campaign tour of the Volta region, Mr.Mahama said Ghanaians were made to believe he has was brought on board because of his ‘economic prowess’ but his failure is unprecedented.
“Today that economy is in crisis, hardship has covered the face of the land, Ghanaians are poorer than they ever were in history, Ghanaians are suffering severe economic crisis.That economy is in severe economic crisis.The country’s Cedi is depreciated at a very fast rate. Today inflation is up, and the same person who was brought as a running mate,as economic guru, to come and fix the economy, now comes and say vote for me and fix the economy”
“So eight years, what were you doing? And when he is asked, he says she was only advising the driver because he was just a driver’s mate. I have never seen anything like this before “He says vote for me to come and fix the government which I am a part of, it doesn’t make sense. You cannot run away from the record of your government, you are a part of it” he emphasized
Mr. Mahama added that, “The Flagbearer of the NPP who is the Vice President of this country is now talking like the opposition leader. How can you be opposition in the rulling party” he quizzed
