Your badge is not a license for impunity but a symbol of justice – Minister of Interior to NACOC new recruits

Ghana’s Minister for the Interior, Hon. Muntaka Mohammed-Mubarak on June 4, 2025, delivered a powerful message to the newly graduated recruits of the Narcotics Control Commission (NACOC) at their passing-out ceremony held at the Naval Recruit Training School in Nutekpor, Volta Region.

He emphasized that their badges symbolize a “stewardship of hope” and must never be used as a “ticket for impunity.”

The Minister urged the recruits to uphold the core values of justice, compassion, and integrity, and to honor their oaths to combat illicit drug trafficking and abuse in Ghana.

The recruits have undergone six months of rigorous training, equipping them with skills in intelligence gathering, drug pharmacology, profiling techniques, document fraud detection, and tactical security operations.

The Minister assured them of the government’s full support, including providing necessary logistics and policy direction, to enable NACOC to fulfill its mandate effectively.

He also commended the instructors and staff for their professionalism and dedication in preparing the recruits.
This graduation marks a significant step forward in Ghana’s fight against illicit drugs, with the new officers expected to play a key role in the country’s efforts to combat drug trafficking and abuse.

The Minister concluded by urging the recruits to serve with honor and dedication, reminding them that by protecting the nation from drugs, they are safeguarding its future.
