It was a day of joy, laughter, and renewed hope in Teshie as philanthropist and politician Hon. Bernard Martei Korley hosted a memorable Easter feast for widows in the community, capped by a generous GHS 100,000 donation.
The event, which drew dozens of widows from across the area, was not just a celebration—but a powerful reminder that even in grief, no one should feel forgotten.
Hon. Martei Korley, known for his acts of compassion, said the initiative was inspired by the message of Easter, renewal, hope, and love.
“Easter is about the victory of life over despair,” he said. “These women have endured so much, and this is just one way to say: you are seen, you are valued, and you are loved.”
The high point came when he presented a Cheque of GHS 100,000 to the Teshie Widows Association through its leader, Madam Comfort Niikai Commey. Overcome with gratitude, she offered prayers for Martei Korley and praised his unwavering commitment to supporting the vulnerable.
“May God bless Hon. Martei Korley and give him the strength to keep doing more,” she said. “We hope others are watching and will be inspired to do the same.”
The event was more than a donation—it was a celebration of life, community, and shared humanity. For many of the widows, it brought back smiles they hadn’t worn in a long time.
In a world often too busy to notice the grieving and the marginalized, Hon. Martei Korley’s act was a bold gesture of hope and solidarity—and one that will be remembered long after Easter.
