The newly confirmed Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Ga East, Mr. Edmund Agboh, has pledged to lead with integrity, transparency, and a deep commitment to inclusive development.
The MCE, whose confirmation was celebrated at a ceremony attended by dignitaries including the Greater Accra Regional Minister, MP for Dome-Kwabenya, and party executives, expressed profound gratitude to His Excellency John Dramani Mahama and the leadership of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) for the trust reposed in him.
“Our journey ahead demands unity, accountability, and innovation,” he said. “Together, we will revitalize Local Governance in line with the ‘RESET’ agenda of our great party.”
Addressing the Assembly’s longstanding challenges particularly inadequate funding and delays in disbursement of the District Assemblies Common Fund (DACF).
The Mr. Agboh outlined plans to boost internally generated funds through convenient and fair revenue collection systems.
Road Infrastructure: Rehabilitation of critical roads such as the Narhman-Musuku and Ashomgman Estate Pure Water roads to ease traffic congestion and prevent flooding.
DRIP Equipment Deployment: Enhancing local roads using the assembly’s own machinery, to be managed by newly appointed technical staff.
Market and Lorry Station Improvements: A planned facelift for markets and lorry parks, ensuring traders are treated fairly with no loss of space or livelihood.
Water Access and Sanitation: Commitment to addressing water scarcity and poor sanitation, with firm enforcement of National Sanitation Day activities.
Land Protection: Pledging to clamp down on illegal acquisition of state lands, with security agencies tasked to ensure peace and order.
The MCE also reaffirmed close collaboration with MPs, traditional leaders, religious groups, and civil society to build a united front for development.
