Ghana publishers company launches gazette 360 to curb illegal gazetting

The Ghana Publishers Company Limited (GPCL), in partnership with Marry Right Ghana and AngloGold Ashanti, has launched the Gazette 360 campaign, a nationwide initiative aimed at tackling illegal gazetting and deepening public awareness of the Ghana Gazette.

At a press conference held at the GPCL Boardroom in Accra, the company’s Managing Director, Nana Kwasi Boatey, warned that individuals and groups engaged in unauthorized gazettal will face the full rigors of the law. He stressed that GPCL remains the sole entity legally mandated to print and publish the Ghana Gazette and other government and legal publications.

Boatey explained that Gazette 360 will make the Gazette more accessible to citizens, institutions, and businesses, while promoting transparency and strengthening governance.

Launched under the theme “Know it, use it, Trust it,” the campaign seeks to ensure the public understands how to use the Gazette as a trusted legal reference.

Representatives of partner institutions also pledged their support. A spokesperson for Marry Right Ghana, together with AngloGold Ashanti, highlighted the importance of broadening civic awareness.

On behalf of the Ga Mantse, Nii Abossey Okai commended GPCL for the initiative, describing it as a timely intervention to enhance civic education and national development.

The event also received high-profile endorsements from national figures, including Felix Kwakye Ofosu, Minister of Government Communications; Prof. Baffour Agyemang Duah; Rev. Dr. Cyril Fayose; Rev. Dr. Paul Kwabena Boafo; and a representative of the National Chief Imam.

According to GPCL, Gazette 360 will roll out nationwide through community outreach, media engagement, and digital education tools to expand access and help the public better understand the role of the Gazette.
