The Chief Executive Officer of the Petroleum Hub Development Corporation, Dr. Toni Aubynn, has once again demonstrated his commitment to empowering the youth of the Prestea-Huni-Valley Municipality by donating essential items to ten first-year Senior High School students from the area.
On Sunday, September 21, 2025, Dr. Aubynn, who also serves as the Abakomahene of the Damang Wassa Division of the Wassa Fiase Traditional Area, presented educational materials including trunks, chop boxes, student mattresses, and GHC200 pocket money to each of the ten beneficiaries from Damang Wassa and its environs.
The presentation was made on Dr. Aubynn’s behalf by Mrs. Ruth Tachie Mensah, President of the Damang Chapter of Women’s Aglow, who emphasized that the gesture reflects his strong commitment to education and human resource development in the area.
Drawing from Dr. Aubynn’s own inspiring journey, from Damang Primary School to becoming a leading figure in Ghana’s mining, oil, gas, and business sectors.
Mrs. Tachie Mensah encouraged the students to embrace education as the surest tool for personal growth and wealth creation.
She urged them to emulate Dr. Aubynn’s discipline and diligence, noting that these qualities have established him as a beacon of Ghanaian excellence and a respected voice in Africa’s mining industry.
Mrs. Tachie Mensah further assured the students that Dr. Aubynn remains committed to supporting young people who demonstrate academic excellence.
“Nana (referring to Dr. Aubynn) was born and raised in Damang, attended primary and secondary schools in Damang and Huni-Valley respectively.
Through hard work, discipline, and dedication, he has consistently risen to the top,” she said.
She also highlighted Dr. Aubynn’s long-standing contributions to human capital development in the municipality, pointing to his pivotal role in establishing the Gold Fields Ghana Foundation, which has supported many students through scholarships.
Additionally, she recalled his consistent donations of books, computers, and even a piano to Huni Valley SHS, his alma mater.
Parents of the beneficiary students expressed heartfelt gratitude for the timely intervention, pledging to ensure their children make the most of the support and strive to achieve excellence, inspired by Dr. Aubynn’s example.
