Gospel artiste Asirah nominated for “discovery of the year” at 2025 praise achievement awards

Ghanaian gospel musician Phoebe Asirah Adjei, popularly known by her stage name Asirah, has been nominated for “Discovery of the Year” at the 4th Edition of the Praise Achievement Awards 2025, an event that honours excellence and impact within Ghana’s gospel music industry.

Born in Dormaa in the Bono Region and currently based in the Ashanti Region, Asirah’s journey in music is deeply rooted in purpose, perseverance, and passion.

From her early years, she actively participated in church choirs, school music groups, and cultural troupes, experiences that shaped her creative expression.

A proud alumna of Berekum All for Christ School and Sunyani Senior High School, she stood out both academically and artistically.

She later pursued a degree in Political Studies and English Language at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), where she refined her musical craft alongside her studies.

Currently, she is a graduate at the KNUST Faculty of Law, balancing legal education, ministry, and motherhood with grace and determination.

Asirah’s professional music career took off after her participation in MTN Hitmaker Season 6, a season that also featured notable artists like Mr. Drew and Krymi.

Since then, she has developed a unique sound, a fusion of gospel, soul, R&B, Afrobeat, and jazz, anchored in her desire to lead souls to Christ, especially the youth.

Her music carries a strong social message. Beyond entertainment, Asirah’s mission is to reach young people struggling with addiction, identity crises, and spiritual stagnation.

Her lyrics emphasize healing, hope, and transformation, particularly for young women, whom she inspires toward personal growth and godly living.

In the “Discovery of the Year” category, Asirah is nominated alongside rising gospel stars including Psalmist Sam, Aikkuo, Naana Asiedu, Joseph Abeiku Gordon, Sonia Biekro, Miss Walters, Wuddah, Seth Diamond, Joella, Kwesi Kaej, Afia Sika, Matthew Ansah, and Sarah Appiah.

“This nomination is a blessing and a reminder that faithfulness in the little things will always be seen and rewarded,” said Asirah.

“I’m grateful to God, my family, and everyone who has believed in my journey.” She added.

Asirah’s rise reflects the power of faith, hard work, and authenticity. With a growing fanbase and a timeless message of hope, she is poised to become one of the defining gospel voices of her generation.
