The Minister for Health, Kwabena Mintah Akandoh, has announced that ₵130 million has been allocated for the continuation of the La General Hospital project, which is expected to be completed by 2027.
Speaking to the media during a visit to the project site on October 9, 2025, the Minister reaffirmed the Mahama administration’s commitment to completing the hospital on schedule.
He assured residents of La that the government remains determined to deliver a modern, fully equipped healthcare facility for the community.
The contractor for the project, Madam Hilda Xiea, explained that the temporary suspension of work was due to funding constraints.
She, however, assured that construction will resume immediately after the release of funds.
