According to a statement signed by the Ministry’s Spokesperson, Mr. Richmond Rockson, the projects will be officially commissioned on Saturday, 11th October 2025, by the Minister for Energy and Green Transition, Hon. John Abdulai Jinapor (MP).
The initiative forms part of government’s broader effort to expand access to reliable and affordable electricity under the National Electrification Scheme (NES).
The Ministry said the goal is to enhance the quality of life in rural areas while driving inclusive growth and sustainable development.
The commissioning ceremony will be attended by traditional authorities, opinion leaders, officials from the Northern Electricity Distribution Company (NEDCo), the Central Gonja District Assembly, and residents of the beneficiary communities.
Speaking ahead of the event, Hon. Jinapor reaffirmed government’s commitment to equitable energy access across the country.
“Electricity is not just about lighting homes; it is about powering opportunity, driving enterprise, and transforming lives. Through projects like this, we are delivering on our promise to make energy the bedrock of Ghana’s green and inclusive development,” the Minister for Energy and Green Transition, Hon. John Abdulai Jinapor, said.
The Ministry reiterated that the extension of electricity to rural areas remains a central pillar of Ghana’s Green Transition Agenda, aimed at achieving sustainable, modern, and inclusive energy-driven growth nationwide.
