The Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts, in collaboration with the Ghana Tourism Authority and the Black Star Experience, has officially launched the event calendar for December in Ghana 2025 at the Banquet Hall of the Jubilee House in Accra.
The highly anticipated celebration, held under the distinguished patronage of His Excellency President John Dramani Mahama, marks another milestone in Ghana’s drive to position itself as Africa’s premier destination for culture, creativity, and heritage tourism.
Over the years, December in Ghana has evolved into one of the nation’s most vibrant and unifying celebrations, a season when cities, beaches, and towns burst into life with music, colour, and cultural expression.
It brings together Ghanaians, the diaspora, and visitors from around the world in a shared celebration of art, identity, and togetherness.
This year’s calendar features a dynamic lineup of activities across the country, including theatre performances, concerts, fashion showcases, culinary fairs, business conferences, traditional festivals, and community service initiatives.
Each event is designed to promote Ghana’s culture and tourism while stimulating the local economy and empowering the creative sector.
In her address, the Minister for Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts, Hon. Ablah Dzifa Gomashie, described December in Ghana as “more than a festive season, a cultural movement, a global call to come home, and a testament to Ghana’s heritage, hospitality, and creative spirit.”
She further extended an open invitation to the diaspora, fellow Africans, and friends of Ghana to join the celebration, saying:
“December in Ghana is our story told through music, fashion, art, and unity. It is an opportunity for the world to experience the warmth and creativity that define us as a people.”
The Minister noted that the 2025 edition aligns with President Mahama’s vision to reposition tourism, culture, and the creative arts as engines of inclusive economic growth, while strengthening Ghana’s Black Star Experience, a bold national agenda to make the country the hub of African heritage and Pan-Africanism.
The Ministry expressed appreciation to its partners, event organizers, creative professionals, local authorities, and members of the diaspora whose collaboration continues to make December in Ghana a global brand.
As the season approaches, stakeholders are encouraged to uphold Ghana’s reputation as the heartbeat of African hospitality and culture, welcoming visitors from around the world to experience the beauty, creativity, and spirit that make December in Ghana truly magical.
