President Mahama announces revival of Volta Star Textiles Limited .

A strategic investor has been selected to partner government in a bid to revamp and make operational now defunct Volta Star Textiles Limited.
This forms part of government’s overarching goal of making the country an industrial hub for job creation, manufacturing and export.

President John Mahama has since disclosed that government has made a significant effort at securing a strategic investor for the project.

He made the remarks at Juapong in the Volta region when he held a ground- breaking ceremony for the 24-Hour Economy Model Market as part of his two day #Resetting Ghana Tour of the Volta Region.

“A transactions advisor was appointed, strategic investors were invited to submit proposals, and one investor has been selected to partner government in reviving the factory” President Mahama disclosed.

The President said reviving the factory would complement other development initiatives in the Volta Region, including the proposed Volta Economic Corridor.

“Juapong has always occupied an important position in Ghana’s economic landscape. With its location along the Volta River, its history of industry, agriculture and commerce, Juapong has the potential to become an even stronger gateway for trade and investment” he emphasized.
