Netherlands donates full-body and package scanners to Ghana’s narcotics control commission

The Kingdom of the Netherlands has fully funded the procurement of full-body security scanners and package scanners for Ghana’s Narcotics Control Commission (NACOC).

The Dutch Minister for Security and Justice, Foort Van Oosten, officially handed over the equipment to Ghana’s Minister for the Interior, Muntaka Mohammed-Mubarak.

Mr. Van Oosten said the donation was made on behalf of the President of the Netherlands, reaffirming the country’s commitment to supporting Ghana in combating illicit drug trafficking and related transnational crimes.

Receiving the scanners on behalf of President John Dramani Mahama, Interior Minister Muntaka Mohammed-Mubarak expressed deep appreciation to the Dutch government.

He emphasized that the equipment will significantly strengthen Ghana’s security architecture, particularly at major entry and exit points, as the country steps up efforts to curb narcotics smuggling.
