The Member of Parliament for Amenfi Central, Joana Gyan Cudjoe, has launched a major water intervention project aimed at constructing 130 mechanised boreholes across the constituency to provide residents with reliable access to clean and potable drinking water.
The initiative, according to the MP, is a matter of urgent priority as many communities continue to struggle with water scarcity.
She believes that addressing the issue holistically will significantly improve the quality of life for her constituents.
Speaking in an interview with NK Obrempong on Dwaboase on Power 97.9 FM and TV XYZ on December 1, 2025, Mrs. Gyan highlighted her unwavering commitment to solving the area’s water challenges.
She described the project as both a personal responsibility and a divine blessing.
“Before the 2024 general elections, I constructed about 60 mechanised boreholes across sixty communities as a parliamentary candidate. After assuming office as Member of Parliament, I have completed 30 more, and an additional 40 are currently under construction,” she revealed.
The MP noted that the project forms part of her broader development vision for Amenfi Central, adding that she hopes the constituency will one day look back on this intervention as a lasting legacy that transformed lives and communities.
Residents in several beneficiary communities have already begun expressing appreciation for the improved access to water, while others eagerly await the completion of the next phase of borehole installations.
Mrs. Gyan reaffirmed her commitment to continuing ambitious development projects aimed at raising living standards and ensuring that every community in Amenfi Central gains access to essential services.
