The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has begun a two-day Stakeholders Workshop to review and update Ghana’s Comprehensive Foreign Policy in response to evolving global dynamics.
The workshop brings together government officials, diplomats, civil society actors, and scholars to deliberate on critical thematic areas, including geopolitical shifts, economic diplomacy, security cooperation, diaspora engagement, and the role of technology in modern diplomacy.
In her opening remarks, Acting Chief Director Ambassador Khadija Iddrisu underscored the importance of harnessing collective expertise to strengthen Ghana’s diplomatic posture.
She reaffirmed that Ghana’s foreign policy continues to rest on long-standing principles of Pan-Africanism, non-alignment, peaceful coexistence, and multilateralism.
Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs, Hon. James Gyakye Quayson, stressed the need for a unified and forward-looking foreign policy framework in an increasingly complex global landscape.
He called for an approach that safeguards Ghana’s sovereignty, expands economic opportunities, and reinforces the nation’s reputation as a stable, principled voice on the global stage.
The initiative forms part of the Ministry’s broader commitment to enhancing policy coherence and ensuring Ghana’s foreign engagements align with its national development priorities.
