Ga South MCE donates items to persons with disabilities, urges society to shun discrimination

The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Ga South in the Greater Accra Region, Hon. Moses Ocansey Kubi, has donated items to persons with disabilities in the municipality to support their livelihoods.

The donated items include laptops, fridges, soft drinks for their stores, a barbering machine, a polytank, 40 crates of eggs, and other items.

Speaking to TV XYZ News, Hon. Moses Ocansey Kubi urged society to stop discriminating against persons with disabilities and emphasised the importance of supporting them. “We must give them the care and support they deserve,” he said.

He said the donation aims to empower persons with disabilities in Ga South and promote their inclusion in society.

The Greater Accra Regional Vice Chairperson of the Ghana Society of the Physically Disabled, Mrs. Eugenia Eva Kangni, also urged the beneficiaries not to sell the donated items but to use them to improve their lives.

She further appealed to the government to implement the 5 per cent increment pledged for persons with disabilities, noting that it would enable them to do more for their communities.
