Ashaiman Golf City: GNFS contains warehouse fire, saves adjoining facilities

The Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) has successfully contained a warehouse fire that broke out at the Ghana Water Company Limited’s Central Stores at Ashaiman Golf City in the early hours of Monday, January 19, 2026.

According to the GNFS, the Service received a distress call at 12:18 a.m., with fire crews arriving at the scene within minutes at 12:25 a.m. Reinforcements from the Tema Metro and Industrial Area Fire Stations were immediately deployed to support firefighting operations.

The blaze was confined by 1:43 a.m., brought under control at 3:22 a.m., and fully extinguished at 3:50 a.m., preventing its spread to surrounding facilities.

While the fire destroyed production materials and machine parts in Warehouse “D”, firefighters successfully salvaged six workers’ quarters and two adjoining warehouses, warehouses “B” and “C”.

No injuries or fatalities were recorded. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.

The initial firefighting crew was led by Assistant Divisional Officer (ADO I) Samuel Darko, with operational supervision provided by ACFO II Patrick Sallah, Tema Regional Fire Officer; DO II Fiifi Oppong, Regional Operations Officer; and DO II Ebenezer Yenzu, Municipal Fire Officer for Tema Metro.

The Ghana National Fire Service commended the swift response and coordination of its personnel, noting that their timely intervention averted what could have been a major industrial disaster.
