Senior Management and Chairman of the GBC Divisional Union, Mr. Ebenezer Odzewu, has accused the corporation’s leadership of staff victimization, financial mismanagement, and deliberate delays in resolving long-standing union concerns, calling for a forensic audit and immediate action against key officials.
Mr. Odzewu said the union is deeply troubled by recent staff transfers, the eviction of a staff member from a bungalow, and unresolved service conditions that were expected to be concluded last year.
He alleged that management abruptly called off a crucial meeting scheduled for February 2, 2026, describing it as a tactic to stall negotiations.
He further claimed that GBC’s leadership has mismanaged scarce resources, citing issues such as the sale of GBC lands, contractor payments related to the African Games, unpaid allowances, medical bills, and other staff welfare concerns despite what he described as steady revenue inflows.
The union has declared a loss of confidence in management and is demanding a forensic audit of the corporation’s finances from October 1, 2019, to date.
GBC staff across the country have shown solidarity by wearing red bands, as the union warns it has further strategies in place if their demands are not met.
