GITFIC appoints Professor Deodat E. Adenutsi as director of education (Africa)

The Ghana International Trade and Finance Conference (GITFIC) has officially announced Professor Deodat E. Adenutsi as Director of Education (Africa), further strengthening their commitment to research, capacity building, and policy education in international trade and finance, particularly under the AfCFTA framework. With over 25 years of experience in academia and policy, he is an excellent fit for the role.

Professor Adenutsi is a leading figure in his field. With a PhD in Development Finance from Stellenbosch University and experience as a Visiting Scholar at the IMF, he brings invaluable credentials to his new role.

His work spans digital finance, international economics, and macroeconomic policy, and he is passionate about mentoring the next generation of professionals.

In his new role, Professor Adenutsi will lead GITFiC’s educational strategy, focusing on Africa’s economic growth through initiatives like the Global Debt Initiative and AfCFTA Implementation Support.

He will oversee the implementation of curricula in African universities, ensure academic rigor, and foster collaborations between academia, industry, and governments.

Under Professor Adenutsi’s leadership, GITFiC aims to expand the AfCFTA Executive Education Program, deepen engagement with trade and economic bodies, and strengthen thought leadership in trade facilitation and related sectors.

GITFiC has reiterated its commitment to its mission, focusing on policy dialogue, trade facilitation, and financial innovation.

Professor Adenutsi’s appointment reinforces the organization’s dedication to excellence, capacity development, and sustainable economic growth, building on seven years of successful AfCFTA support initiatives.
