MP for Klottey-Korle, Dr Zanetor Agyeman-Rawlings will, today, August 25,2026, face the Appointments Committee of Parliament for vetting following her nomination by President John Mahama as Minister for Environment, Science and Technology.
This comes after Parliament was recalled from recess for a five-day sitting to consider urgent parliamentary business.
When the House reconvened on Monday, August 24, Speaker Alban Sumana Kingsford Bagbin referred the President’s ministerial nominations to the Appointments Committee for consideration and approval.
Reshuffle And Reassignment
President Mahama on August 7,2026 nominated Dr Agyeman-Rawlings to the Ministry of Environment, Science and Technology.
Majority Leader Mahama Ayariga was nominated to the Ministry of Local Government amd Chieftaincy Affairs.
As part of the reshuffle, Ahmed Ibrahim, Member of Parliament for Banda, was been reassigned from the Ministry of Local Government, Chieftaincy and Religious Affairs to the Ministry of Works, Housing and Water Resources to replace Kenneth Gilbert Adjei who had been reassigned to the Defence Ministry.
The changes were submitted to Parliament through the Speaker in line with Article 78(1) of the 1992 Constitution.
