Gov’t presents furniture to schools in the Ledzokuku Municipality

The government, through the Ministry of Education, handed over furniture to public pre-tertiary institutions in the Ledzokuku Municipal Directorate of Education at a special ceremony in Accra on Tuesday.

The provision of the furniture forms part of the government’s efforts to promote effective teaching and learning in schools across the country.

The government presented 450 mono desks to O’Reilly Senior High School and Teshie Presbyterian Senior High School, 226 dual desks to primary schools, and 1,229 hexagonal tables and chairs to kindergartens in the municipality.

Speaking at the presentation ceremony, the Member of Parliament for Ledzokuku, Mr Benjamin Narteh Ayiku, stated that the government’s resetting agenda was not mere rhetoric but a genuine move to promote national development.

He explained that the government was doing everything possible to support various sectors of the economy, including education.

The MP appealed to the beneficiaries to adopt a good maintenance culture to ensure the furniture lasts longer and serves its intended purpose.

The Ledzokuku Municipal Director of Education, Mrs Theresa Tetteh, praised the Ledzokuku Municipal Assembly for making funds available from the Common Fund for the procurement of the furniture.

She expressed optimism that the donation would go a long way in promoting effective teaching and learning in schools within the municipality.

The Municipal Director pledged to ensure that the furniture is put to good use in line with the purpose for which it was provided.

Mrs Tetteh thanked the government for the timely support, which she said would help ease the furniture challenges faced by schools in the municipality.
