Bishop boxing promotions ignites Bukom with unforgettable “best of Bukom” fight night

Bishop Boxing Promotions, spearheaded by American businessman and cultural leader Dave Bishop, staged its debut event, “Best of Bukom,” at the Bukom Boxing Arena, delivering a night of electrifying bouts and cultural spectacle that set a new benchmark for Ghanaian boxing promotions.

The headline clash saw Joseph “Jaguar” Commey capture the Ghana Lightweight Championship with a second-round stoppage, while Sampson Segbedzi retained his welterweight crown in a dominant unanimous decision.

Rising stars also shone brightly, with Theophilus Allotey securing a bantamweight stoppage alongside several impressive undercard victories.

But “Best of Bukom” was more than boxing. The night blended professional sports entertainment with cultural performances and a global live stream, positioning Bukom and Ghana on the international boxing map.

Promotions founder Dave Bishop, enstooled as Nana Ekow Amu I, emphasized his long-term vision: building a boxing academy in Bukom and creating international opportunities for Ghana’s fighters, while driving economic and social development through the sport.

The Ghana Boxing Authority (GBA) hailed the event’s flawless execution, applauding its role in reigniting Bukom’s historic boxing legacy.

With Commey, Segbedzi, Allotey, and other talents leading the charge, Bishop Boxing Promotions is charting a bold path to restore Ghana’s standing as a global boxing powerhouse.
