President John Dramani Mahama has appointed Dr. Abdul-Baasit Aziz-Bamba, as the Acting Director-General of the Value for Money Office.
An official statement signed by Felix Kwakye Ofosu (MP), the Minister for Government Communications, on Tuesday, 8th September 2026 said Dr. Aziz-Bamba will serve in this capacity pending receipt of the constitutionally required advice of the Governing Board, in consultation with the Public Services Commission.
The Value for Money Office Act, 2026 (Act 1172), signed by President Mahama in May this year, empowers the office to ensure prudent public expenditure, curb waste and ensure all public expenses deliver tangible benefits to Ghanaians.
Dr. Aziz-Bamba is a Harvard-trained lawyer who, until his appointment, served as a Senior Lecturer at the University of Ghana School of Law.
He is founder of the Law Offices of Azizbamba & Associates, a reputable law firm located in Accra, Ghana.
Prior to that Dr. Aziz Bamba co-foundered the Law Offices of AB & M Legal Consult.
He has over 16 years of legal practice and built a solid reputation as a seasoned private legal practitioner and consultant.
