The Electoral Commission (EC) has announced that District-Level Elections for the Nkoranza North and South districts in the Bono East Region will be held on Tuesday, May 13, 2025.
The EC also said there will be by-elections in some selected electoral areas.
In preparation for these elections, the EC will organize candidate platforms from today, Friday, May 9, to Sunday, May 11.
These platforms will provide an opportunity for aspirants to introduce themselves, share their plans, and respond to questions from voters.
At least one platform will be held in every electoral area and unit where polls are scheduled.
The EC has urged candidates and their supporters to conduct their campaigns peacefully and to refrain from employing threats, force, or intimidation to influence voters, as such actions constitute election offenses.
These elections are being conducted in accordance with the District Level Elections Regulations, 2015 (C.I. 89), following the expiration of the term of assembly and unit committee members.
The EC encourages all eligible voters in the affected areas to participate in the upcoming elections and to engage with candidates during the platform sessions to make informed choices.
