Gov’t will decide on roadmap to tackle looming ‘dumsor’ by close of today – Kwakye Ofosu

The new government has assured that it will put in pragmatic steps to curb the looming power outages known as ‘Dumsor’.

This comes after the government held an emergency meeting with stakeholders from the country’s energy sector regarding the looming power crisis.

Special Aide to the President and MP for Abura Asebu-Kwamankese Constituency, Felix Kwakye Ofosu, expressed the government’s commitment to tackling the looming crisis.

He said the new government has received reports from the various stakeholders and the necessary actions will be taken.

“A technical committee has been set up with representatives from all key players in the management of Ghana’s energy sector. They have until the end of today [Wednesday, January 8] to present the roadmap to the government, outlining what needs to be done and how it can be done,” he told the press after the emergency meeting held on Wednesday morning.

He allayed fears among Ghanaians, stating “You can rest assured that the government is taking the matter seriously, and we will take the necessary actions to prevent any difficulties for the people of Ghana.”
