The body of a baby has been retrieved from the VIP bus which got involved in an accident on the Kumasi-Obuasi highway yesterday.
The baby was discovered by staff of a towing service who were engaged to remove the bus that had run into a ditch resulting in the casualties.
The identity of the parents of the baby is yet to be identified.
This brings the death toll to fourteen (14) after the fatal accident that occurred in the early hours of Monday, October 14, 2024.
The people who lost their lives in the incident include seven males, five females, and three minors, all of whom were passengers on board the bus.
VIP bus en route from Kumasi to Enchi in the Western North Region skidded off the road has claimed 13 lives.
The bus plummeted into a ditch at Kwapia near Obuasi in the Ashanti Region, resulting in multiple casualties.
Reports indicate that all but one of the deceased passengers died instantly at the scene.
The driver, identified as Osei Adu, was transported to the hospital for treatment but succumbed to his injuries shortly after arrival.
