As a sports journalist who has followed Ghanaian footballers across Africa for over two decades, I don’t make statements like this lightly.
Hafiz Ibrahim, popularly known as “The General,” has been exceptional this season in the Egyptian Premier League, and I strongly believe Black Stars coach Otto Addo should keep a close eye on him.
Hafiz currently plays for El Gouna FC in the Egyptian Premier League, where he operates effectively as both a defensive and offensive midfielder.
Since joining El Gouna FC on loan from Attram De Visser Sporting Club midway through the 2024 season, his impact has been immediate and consistent.

Statistically, his season speaks for itself. Hafiz has featured in 14 out of 15 Premier League matches, a clear sign of trust from his coaches and his physical reliability.
Additionally, he has played 7 cup matches out of 9, showing his importance across competitions.
Availability, consistency, and performance at this level are qualities every national team coach looks for.
What impresses me most is his discipline, tactical intelligence, and work rate.

He controls the tempo of games, breaks down opposition play, and still contributes offensively when needed.
These are attributes the Black Stars can benefit from, especially as Ghana looks to strengthen its midfield depth.
As the PRO for Attram De Visser Sporting Club and Head of Sports at XYZ Broadcasting Limited, I can confidently say that Hafiz Ibrahim represents the kind of Ghanaian talent excelling quietly abroad.
Coach Otto Addo should monitor him closely, because on current form, “The General” is setting the standard for Ghanaian players in Egypt this season.
