In a heartfelt and dignified ceremony held on July 22, 2025, the Ghana National Association of Fishers and Farmers (GNAFF) marked a significant leadership transition as outgoing President Emmanuel Mensah officially handed over the reins to newly elected President Michael Tettey Tetteh.
The symbolic event, attended by association members, local officials, and community stakeholders, celebrated the end of an era defined by nearly 15 years of dedicated service by Mr. Mensah.
Under his leadership, GNAFF implemented several key livelihood enhancement and sustainability initiatives aimed at improving the welfare of farmers and fishers across Ghana.
The official handing-over, which included the presentation of leadership folders and association records, was met with warm applause and deep appreciation from attendees.
In his acceptance remarks, Mr. Michael Tettey Tetteh pledged to uphold transparency, deepen stakeholder collaboration, and advocate more strongly for the interests of farmers and fishers nationwide.
He assured members that, moving forward, all distributed aquaculture and farm products would be shared equitably across all regions, leveraging GNAFF’s established regional representation. “Gone are the days when items were shared in secrecy or behind closed doors,” he said. “For the sake of fairness and transparency, all distributions will now be done publicly, where everyone can bear witness.”
Mr. Tetteh Tetteh reiterated his commitment to building on the foundation laid by his predecessor and ensuring that GNAFF remains a united, inclusive voice for all who depend on agriculture and fisheries for their livelihoods.
