Owner of defunct DKM is key Financier of NPP & Dr Bawumia, chase them for your money – Mahama

Flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) says after years of false accusations for political gain, the truth is out that the owner of the defunct micro finance company, DKM is a key financier of the NPP and Dr Mahamadu Bawumia’s campaign.

According to John Mahama the owner is a know member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and it’s now clear Ghanians particularly customers of the defunct DKM and electorates in the then Bono Ahafo region were misled, incited by the false claims to vote against the NDC

In the wake of the crisis, the NPP led a campaign that Mr. Mahama and his family owned the financial institution which swindled hundreds of Ghanaians.

Addressing a mini durbar at Krankah in the Nkoranza North Constituency of the Bono East region on Monday, Mr. Mahama emphasized that the identity of the owner of the DKM was confirmed by NPP MP for Nandom and a former interior Minister, Ambrose Derry.

“In 2016 when I was president, you will recall the NPP held a press conference and smeared my family and I with propaganda as owners of DKM. Just recently Vice President Dr Bawumia went to Nandom to campaign and he was seen with the said gentleman who is the owner of DKM.

His uncle, Ambrose Derry who was Minister for the Interior confirmed it that he is the owner of DKM, a member of the Npp and a Financier of Dr Bawumia” he revealed.

Mr. Mahama has since called on all persons affected by the operations of DKM to sk Dr. Bawumia for their locked up investment.

“When Dr Bawumia comes to campaign, ask him about your money” he advised.

A coalition of senior citizens called Locked up Investment Forum has been picketing the premises of DKM and the Finance Ministry since March this year demanding release of their locked up funds.

Though the ministry has turned a deaf ear to their demands, they have vowed to continue their Wednesday weekly picketing until their demands are met.

Convenor for the group, Dr. Adu Anane Antwi tells MyXYZonline.com that ” the refusal of the ministry to give us a hearing will not discourage us. We will continue to picket as we said. Because we have given ourselves till the end of November after which we will revise our decision” he said .
