Parliament committee chair urges Gov’t to hand over Saglemi project to TDC

The Chairman of the Parliamentary Select Committee on Works and Housing, Vincent Oppong Asamoah, has called on government to hand over the stalled Saglemi Housing Project to the Tema Development Company (TDC) for completion and management.

Speaking during a working visit to inspect ongoing housing projects, Mr. Asamoah expressed excitement over the progress of TDC’s Estate project, where 800 housing units are currently under construction.

He commended the contractors for being actively on site and praised the acting Managing Director of TDC for his leadership.

He urged President Mahama and the government not to hand over the Saglemi Housing Project to private developers.

He stressed that TDC, with the right support, is well-resourced and capable of completing the housing units, which have remained abandoned for years.
