President John Mahama has served strong notice that any Chief Executive Officer of a state owned enterprise found culpable of corruption and non-performance will be kicked out of office.
He also says he will personally participate in tbe assessment of the performances all state entities, with the hope that the pledge the CEOs have made to help reset Ghana will show a positive story
President Mahama who was speaking at his first engagement with CEOs of specified state entities at the Kempiski Hotel in Accra added that non performing SOEs under the State Interest and Governance Authority (SIGA) will be either merged, privatised or shutdown.
“The era of impunity, midiocrity and financial recklst end today. It is not going to be business as usual” he warned
President Mahama further added that loss making SOEs will no longer be tolerated
“Loss making SOEs will no longer be tolerated. They will swiftly reformed, merged, privatised or shutdown” he intimated
President Mahama further warned that no act of corruption or procurement breaches will be countenanced.
“Corruption, procurement fraud and financial management will be prosecuted strictly” he stated
He has since directed all CEOs to declare their assets to the Auditor General or face santions including removal from office
