President Mahama’s Hacked X Account Recovered
The official X account of President John Dramani Mahama (@JDMahama) has been successfully recovered after being compromised by hackers.
The Minister of State for Government Communications, Felix Kwakye Ofosu, confirmed the restoration, assuring the public that the necessary security measures have been taken to prevent future breaches.
“The account has been fully recovered, and we have implemented additional safeguards to prevent further unauthorized access,” he stated.
The breach, which occurred on Sunday, saw the President’s account being used to promote a fraudulent cryptocurrency scheme linked to “Solanafrica.” The scam falsely claimed to be an initiative by Mahama to enable free payments across Africa using the Solana blockchain. Shortly after, the scheme collapsed, causing financial losses for investors.
Following the successful recovery, all unauthorized posts have been removed, and officials are working closely with cybersecurity experts to strengthen the account’s security.
Authorities urge the public to remain cautious of online scams and to verify any information attributed to President Mahama through official channels.
