Remember the 8-years of hardship, ballooning legacy debt when you go to polls on Dec 7 – Mahama

The NDC Presidential candidate, John Dramani Mahama is urging the Ghanaian voter to consider the 8-years of hardship, suppression, ballooning public debt which as a result of corruption and economic mismanagement by the New Patriotic Party (NPP) administration when they go to the polls.

According to him, the consequences of making wrong decisions far outweigh the benefit one stands to get now through financial inducements by the NPP which clearly knows it has lost faith and public trust.

John Mahama who speaking on his campaign tour of the North East region explained that the worrying statistics on the economy should give the voter enough reasons to vote against the NPP administration.

“Ghana’s current debt as of September 2024 was GH¢760 billion; more than 70.6% of the country’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP). The unemployment rate as of the same period stood at 14.5%. “ he emphasized

“Remember the 8-years of hardship, debt that the government has brought on us. Every Ghanaian including a new born owes in excess of GH¢20,000” he bemoaned

Adding that “these debts are not going to be paid by President Akufo Addo or Bawumia but you the youth standing here. That is why you have to think about your future when you go into the polling booth”
