The running mate of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Professor Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang, has called on queen mothers in the Central Region to support the party’s agenda to “reset Ghana.”
Speaking at a meeting themed “Building the Central Region We Want,” Professor Opoku-Agyemang engaged the queen mothers in discussions on effective strategies for regional development. She also appealed to them to rally behind the NDC and vote for the party in the 2024 elections.
The NDC running mate emphasized the importance of their support in the party’s bid to lead the country, urging them to play an active role in the campaign for change.
“There are certain situations we find ourselves in and we cannot do anything. As market women, we need loans to work with, but sometimes things are hard to the extent that securing the loans becomes a challenge.”
“The market is our place as women, and we spend most of our time there. If not the NDC that built the Kejetia market, which government would have done that?
“Ghanaian women are not lazy, but the support is not forthcoming. I am here to plead with you to support the NDC. As a region, we don’t want to be classified as a poor region again, and so I am here to dialogue with you to find solutions. We need you to support us so we know what policies can help transform the region.”
