President of the Republic of Ghana, John Mahama, has unveiled nine new ministerial nominations, with Asunafo South Minister, Eric Opoku as Minister-designate for Good and Agriculture.
A statement signed by Acting Spokesperson for the President, Felix Kwakye Ofosu, stated that former Minority Leader and MP for Tamale South, Haruna Iddrisu, as Minister-designate for Education.
National Democratic Congress (NDC) National Youth Organiser, George Opare Addo, ESQ is Minister designate for Ministry of Youth Development and Empowerment.
Mr Mahama also nominated three persons to head various regions.
Below is the new list of ministerial nominees;
Eric Opoku, MP – Ministry of Food and Agriculture
Agnes Naa Momo Lartey, MP – Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Protection
Abla Dzifa Gomashie, MP – Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts
Haruna Iddrisu, MP – Ministry of Education
Kwame Governs Agbodza, MP – Ministry of Roads and Highways
Elizabeth Ofosu-Adjare, MP – Ministry of Trade, Agribusiness and Industry
Emelia Arthur, MP – Ministry of Fisheries and Aquaculture
George Opare-Addo – Ministry of Youth Development and Empowerment
Ahmed Ibrahim, MP – Ministry of Local Government, Chieftaincy and Religious Affairs
The other regional ministers the President nominated are; Wilbert Petty Brentum – Western North, Eduamoah Ekow Panyin Okyere – Central, and Joseph Nelson – Western.
This is in addition to ten (10) regional ministerial nominees unveiled on Tuesday.
The President previously nominated three others; Cassiel Ato Forson (Finance), John Jinapor (Energy), and Dominic Ayine (Attorney General and Justice) in his first ministerial nominations.
