32 Zongo Coordinators endorse Mohammed Ibrahim for Upper Manya Krobo DCE job

The battle for District Chief Executive (DCE) in Upper Manya Krobo is heating up, and the Zongos have spoken loud and clear – it’s Mohammed Ibrahim or nothing!

In an electrifying show of unity, 32 Zongo Caucus Coordinators from the Eastern Region have thrown their full weight behind Ibrahim, making it crystal clear that he is the only man for the job.

At a high-powered meeting on January 23, 2025, at the residence of the Regional Minister, they fired a direct appeal to President John Dramani Mahama, insisting that Ibrahim’s appointment would cement the government’s commitment to inclusive governance and equitable representation.

“Out of 99 candidates, only one stands tall – and that’s Mohammed Ibrahim,” their resolution declared. And they aren’t backing down!

A Lifelong NDC Warrior

Ibrahim is no newbie in the political trenches. As the Zongo Caucus Coordinator for Upper Manya Krobo, he has been the glue holding the community together, fostering unity, and delivering results. His deep understanding of the district’s complex ethnic makeup and his ability to build bridges among different factions make him the perfect fit for the DCE role.

His track record? Impeccable. As a Research Assistant to the MP for Upper Manya Krobo, he played a critical role in securing funding for major development projects, ensuring his district wasn’t left behind. And when the NDC needed someone to step up, he was right there—providing financial, material, and logistical support during campaigns.

His influence even reached Akwatia, where he helped secure its adoption under the NDC banner, reinforcing party structures and proving he’s a man who delivers when it matters most.

The People Want Justice

For years, Zongo communities have stood by the NDC, but they say it’s time for action, not just appreciation. “We’ve been loyal. We’ve delivered votes. Now, it’s time the party delivers for us,” the Coordinators argued.

And Ibrahim isn’t just a safe choice—he’s a strategic one. His backing of Mahama’s game-changing 24-Hour Economy policy shows he’s not only in tune with the party’s vision but ready to drive it forward.

With the President putting the final touches on his appointments, the big question remains: Will he listen? Will the voices of 32 Coordinators and the Zongo communities that have stood by the NDC for years be acknowledged?

The pressure is mounting. The demand is clear. And as the Zongo Coordinators boldly put it: “Appointing Mohammed Ibrahim is not just about fairness – it’s about proving that loyalty pays.”
