There is no freeze on public sector employment – Finance Minister Assures

Finance Minister Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson has dismissed claims that the government has halted public sector hiring, reaffirming that recruitment into key sectors will continue.

In an interview with Channel One TV on Wednesday, March 12, Dr. Forson refuted speculation about a hiring freeze, calling such reports inaccurate.

“There is no freeze on employment,” he stated, assuring Ghanaians that job opportunities in the public sector remain available based on national economic needs.

His remarks address growing concerns about limited job openings, with many fearing possible restrictions on government hiring.

Dr. Forson emphasized the government’s commitment to job creation, particularly for the youth, and highlighted ongoing efforts to improve employment opportunities across various sectors.

He also underscored the government’s dedication to maintaining essential public services, ensuring that critical sectors such as health and education receive the necessary workforce.

This clarification reinforces the government’s broader strategy to strengthen Ghana’s workforce and promote sustainable economic growth.
