Dominase drug raid leaves One dead, three police officers injured

A police operation targeting suspected drug traffickers in Dominase in the Gomoa East District, left one suspect dead and three police officers injured following an exchange of gunfire on May 22, 2025.

According to the Ghana Police Service, the raid was part of an ongoing effort to dismantle a drug trafficking network operating in the area.

Officers reportedly encountered armed resistance, prompting a shootout in which one suspect was fatally shot.

Three officers sustained injuries and were transported to a nearby medical facility, where they are said to be in stable condition.

Police have launched an investigation into the incident and are pursuing additional suspects believed to be linked to the network.

Authorities are urging residents to remain calm and to cooperate with law enforcement.
