The Western Regional Police Command has arrested three suspects in connection with a robbery incident that occurred at Nyanikrom near Shama Junction.
The arrests followed a targeted surveillance operation based on credible intelligence that the suspects, armed with insider information, were planning to rob officials of a company located at Nyanikrom.
The intended target was company funds recently withdrawn from a bank for salary payments.
At approximately 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 9, 2025, staff of the company, having withdrawn money from a bank in Takoradi, were ambushed near Unique School Junction by the suspects.
The suspects, who were on a motorbike and an unregistered sedan, forcibly broke the vehicle’s window and made away with the cash.
A swift response by police officers, who had mounted surveillance in the area—led to the arrest of three suspects and the recovery of One Hundred and Forty-Nine Thousand Five Hundred Ghana Cedis (GHC 149,500.00).
Three individuals, Francis Mensah alias Francis Kwaw (34), Ebenezer Cofie (32), and Samuel Bentum (35), have been arrested and are currently in police custody assisting with investigations.
Additionally, Maxwell Kofi Yeboah, a company driver suspected of conspiring with the robbers, is currently at large. Police have launched a manhunt to track down and apprehend him.
The Western Regional Police Command assures the public that all efforts are being made to arrest the remaining suspect and ensure that all perpetrators are brought to justice.
