The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has pledged to place the welfare of its grassroots supporters at the heart of its agenda, recognizing their critical role in the party’s past and future successes.
Chief of Staff Julius Debrah, speaking on behalf of the party, affirmed that under the leadership of President John Dramani Mahama, the NDC remains fully committed to supporting the very people who form its foundation.
“Our grassroots are the backbone of this party,” Debrah stated. “We must take care of them.”
He recalled the legacy of the NDC’s founder, the late Jerry John Rawlings, whose vision was rooted in championing the cause of the poor and addressing the needs of local branch executives and party activists.
That same vision, he said, continues to guide the party’s leadership today.
Debrah underscored the importance of ensuring that the dedication and hard work of grassroots members are rewarded and acknowledged.
“It is their sweat and toil that have built the NDC to what it is today. Their well-being must be prioritized to sustain and grow the party,” he noted.
He added that strengthening the welfare of grassroots members would not only empower the base but also reinforce the party’s national presence and long-term sustainability.
The NDC’s renewed focus on its grassroots, Debrah said, is a clear demonstration of its unwavering commitment to the people who drive its mission forward.
