Assemblies of God Ghana urges nation to honour fallen heroes

As Ghana mourns the tragic helicopter crash that claimed the lives of eight dedicated public servants, the Assemblies of God Ghana, through its leadership, has implored the nation to honour these “fallen heroes” who sacrificed their lives in service.

While the exact details of the Assemblies of God Ghana’s statement have not surfaced from major portals, a similar message of faith-driven tribute was delivered by the Association of Fundamental Baptist Churches, whose statement was reported by Adomonline.com.

In that statement, their president, Rev. Dr. Francis Owen Ackah, referred to the crash as a “national tragedy” and lauded the victims, especially the late Flying Officer Manaen Twum-Ampadu, for serving their country with “honour, dignity and distinction.”

The church anchored its message in the scripture Psalm 116:15, stating: “Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of His saints.” They pledged prayers and called on the nation to find solace in faith even amid profound grief.

The Ghana Pentecostal and Charismatic Council (GPCC) also extended heartfelt condolences in the aftermath of the crash.

Their General Secretary, Apostle Immanuel N. O. Tettey, affirmed that the commitment of the victims to national and community service would forever be remembered, calling the event “a national tragedy and an immense loss,” not just to families but to the whole of Ghana.

Other faith bodies, while not explicitly quoted as saying “let’s honour fallen heroes,” similarly used terms of praise and solidarity as part of their collective mourning.
