Investigations into military plane crash must be transparent – Agbanyor

TRIBUTE TO THE EIGHT GALLANT DIGNITARIES

On August 6, 2025, Ghana suffered an irreparable loss when a military helicopter crashed in the Ashanti region, claiming the lives of eight distinguished individuals.

We pay tribute to ;
1- Dr. Edward Omane Boamah, Minister for Defence, who played a pivotal role in shaping Ghana’s defence policy amidst growing regional security concerns.
– ⁠He is powerful yet humble,calm,cool and collected who executed his duties with precision and integrity after careful analysis and thorough consultation and understanding of the situation
– ⁠He is also ardent Catholic at Christ the King Catholic Church Cantonments -Accra whose believe and dedication to his maker and country is sacred
– ⁠Though a distinguished politician yet sociable and humble minister

2- Dr. Alhaji Ibrahim Murtala Mohammed, Minister for Environment, Science, Technology, and Innovation, a vocal advocate for sustainable development and environmental reforms.
– ⁠He is also a leading advocate against corruption which he believed corruption must be stamped out completely from our country
– ⁠He is convinced that until corruption is eradicated we will never see meaningful progress and development in all sectors of society and the country at large.

3- Alhaji Muniru Mohammed Limuna, Acting Deputy National Security Coordinator, whose dedication to national security was unwavering.- ⁠A beacon of security for our nation whose critical role he zealously played to protect our nation from threats from internal and external enemies of the state.

4- Dr. Samuel Sarpong, Vice Chairperson of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), a respected leader and politician.
– ⁠He is a passionate politician whose love for the NDC party he served is unwavering and he wishes that he could convince others within his region to only vote for the NDC party and same love he has for his country and his devotion to duty is what has taken him to his maker.Rest well.

5- Samuel Aboagye, former NDC parliamentary candidate, who contributed significantly to Ghana’s political landscape.
– ⁠An amazing personality whose dream is serve as a member of parliament in order to extend a helping hand to many of his constituents and supporters of his government and party members even at the peril of his life which he lost in the line of service to his country and humanity.

6- Squadron Leader Peter Bafemi Anala, pilot, who demonstrated exceptional skill and bravery in his service to the Ghana Air Force.
– ⁠A distinguished pilot who had only one goal,to serve his country till death at the command of his superiors without questioning the rationale because he believed that greatness in leadership comes from serving others(Matthew 20:26-28) while encourages others in leadership positions today to value others above oneself (Philippians 2:3-4).

7- Flying Officer Twum Ampadu, co-pilot, whose dedication to d- ⁠He believes in righteous leadership to his profession as co-pilot and service to his country as long as he is called upon to serve.
– ⁠His untimely death admonishes obedience and submission to leaders in our chosen profession and in our service to God and country even to death.He has paid the ultimate price in the service of his country.
– ⁠May God grant you a peaceful restuty was exemplary.

8- Sergeant Ernest Addo Mensah, crew member, who played a vital role in the helicopter’s operation.
– ⁠He advises us today the living,that in service to humanity to be humble, with these words ⁠
– ⁠”Whoever wants to become great among you must be your servant,whosoever wants to be leader must be humble to serve people “

These individuals were not only esteemed leaders but also devoted public servants who worked tirelessly to advance Ghana’s interests. Their passing is a significant blow to the nation, and their contributions will be deeply missed.

In light of this tragedy, l Don Emmanuel Agbanyo has called for a thorough forensic investigation, led by independent foreign experts, to uncover the truth behind the crash.

This investigation will utilize various intelligence gathering methods, including Human Intelligence, Signals Intelligence, Imagery Intelligence, Open-Source Intelligence, Measurement and Signature Intelligence, and Cyber Intelligence.

Even though the Ghana Armed Forces has already initiated an investigation, and the Parliamentary Select Committee on Defence and Interior has pledged to review the findings and enhance aviation safety.

May the memories of these fallen heroes be a blessing to Ghana, and may their legacies continue to inspire future generations. Our deepest condolences go to their families, friends, and colleagues during this difficult time.

May God have mercy on their souls and comfort their families and loved ones and His Excellency the President Of the Republic of Ghana .Fare thee our gallant eight on their journey home to their heaven to meet maker.
