DBG strengthens partnerships with SDIs through team bonding event

Development Bank Ghana (DBG) has deepened collaboration with its partner Specialised Deposit-taking Institutions (SDIs) through a team bonding event held at the Aviation Social Centre in Accra.

The participating institutions included Letshego Ghana, Advans Ghana, Opportunity International, Sinapi Aba Savings and Loans, and GIRSAL.

Staff and representatives engaged in interactive games, networking sessions, and team-building challenges designed to foster trust and collaboration.

Speaking at the event, a DBG representative explained that the initiative reflects the Bank’s commitment to partnerships as the foundation of its mandate.

“This is not just a social gathering. It is an opportunity for our teams and partner institutions to connect beyond the boardroom, strengthen ties, and build the trust essential for delivering inclusive and sustainable financing,” the official said.

DBG highlighted its impact through SDIs, noting that over GHS298 million in long-term and affordable financing has been extended to small and medium enterprises (SMEs) across Ghana, with more than 60% directed to women-led businesses and climate-smart initiatives. Priority sectors include agribusiness, manufacturing, ICT, and high-value services.

Established by the Government of Ghana, DBG operates as a wholesale financial institution, providing long-term capital to drive economic transformation, job creation, and SME capacity building.

The Bank aligns its mission with the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), with a strong focus on green and climate finance under Ghana’s Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs).
